Parks and Recreation
From city parks and recreation centers to the multitude of activities hosted on Lake Hodge’s Reservoir, a day at the park in Rancho Bernardo is whatever you make it. Rancho Bernardo Community Park encompasses 40 acres of varied facilities from eight ball fields, tennis and basketball courts, multiple playgrounds and an outdoor gazebo. Indoors, a gymnasium and meeting rooms are available for community use and rental. Parks and recreation activities range from sports to dancing, youth to senior and therapeutic to competitive. The Rancho Bernardo Off-Leash Dog Park is also part of Rancho Bernardo Community Park covering two and two thirds acres and including three, double-gate entry, off-leash pens where your dog can roam free and play with other neighborhood dogs. For those who prefer acres of water to acres of grass, Lake Hodges Reservoir provides 1,234 surface acres of exactly that. Also including 27 miles of shoreline and a picnic area with 12 tables and six barbecues, a day at Lake Hodges Reservoir can include boating, fishing and even hiking or bicycle riding along the shore’s trail system.

Part of the Poway Unified School District, Rancho Bernardo public school children attend Stone Ranch or Shoal Creek Elementary, Bernardo Heights Middle or Rancho Bernardo High Schools.
