Shopping and Dining
Del Mar’s historic downtown village, built in the 1880s, is now home to over 60 shops and 25 restaurants. Two miles of world-famous southern California coastline, means Del Mar is a top destination for beachgoers and surfers. The one-of-a-kind beaches of Del Mar include wheel chair access via specially designed wheelchairs and a small section of beach where the family dogs can play, too! Want to hang back and take in the wildlife? Keep a close watch on the shimmering coastal waters and the town’s distinctive lagoons – you’re sure to catch sight of a whale, porpoise, or sea lion soon. Seagrove Park offers the perfect backdrop for a daytime picnic or a romantic nighttime stroll overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Children can enjoy the playgrounds of coastal Powerhouse Park.  Torrey Pines State Park is just south of Del Mar and has much to offer the outdoor enthusiast.

Situated on 2.1 square miles of coastal land, Del Mar is a pedestrian-friendly oasis of laid-back living. With the Pacific Ocean to the west, the San Dieguito Lagoon to the north, and the hiking trails of Crest Canyon to the east, Del Mar real estate is ideally located to enjoy all southern California has to offer.

Schools, Health and Transporation
The children of Del Mar attend of one two elementary schools in town run by the Del Mar Unified Schools District: Del Mar Hills Academy or Del Mar Heights Elementary. For middle and high school, children are served by the nearby San Dieguito Unified High School District. Close proximity to San Diego means convenient access to prestigious universities and travel options including the San Diego International Airport. For train service, Amtrak has a transit center in nearby Solana Beach.
